Associate Professor David Weintrop emphasized the importance of teaching students how to engage thoughtfully with these tools.
鈥淢y motivation is less about making sure they don鈥檛 break rules or university policies,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t is much more strongly coming from a perspective of these are students that are graduating, about to enter the workforce and go out into the real world where these AI tools exist. 鈥 A core responsibility we have as educators in higher ed at this moment in time is to prepare students to be informed and savvy users of generative AI technologies.鈥
